The Buffalo Bills could be without both of their starting offensive tackles in Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Left tackle Dion Dawkins and right tackle Spencer Brown both did not practice on Wednesday.
Dawkins is in the concussion protocol, while Brown is dealing with a shoulder injury. Both injuries were sustained in the Bills’ Week 12 loss to the Houston Texans. Quarterback Josh Allen was sacked a whopping eight times in the loss.
Brown could not finish the Houston game after suffering a shoulder injury. Dawkins was evaluated for a concussion early in the game against the Texans but then was cleared to return and he finished the game. He experienced symptoms the next day and was placed in the concussion protocol.
If Dawkins and Brown can’t suit up, that bodes well for Steelers’ pass rushers T.J. Watt, Nick Herbig and Alex Highsmith. Highsmith missed the last two games with a pectoral injury, but he could be active for Sunday.
Herbig had a favorable matchup against Chicago Bears third-string offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo on Sunday, but failed to capitalize. Overall, the defense mustered only two sacks. One of the sacks was a strip sack by Watt that was recovered by Herbig for a touchdown. Nevertheless, it wasn’t enough to beat Chicago.
Bills HC Sean McDermott said LT Dion Dawkins, RT Spencer Brown, LB Terrel BernardTE Dalton Kincaid, WR Curtis Samuel will not practice on Wednesday.
Dawkins is in concussion protocol.
Potential that the Bills could be without both starting offensive tackles vs. the Steelers.

The Steelers had five players sit out of Wednesday’s practice due to injury — wide receiver DK Metcalf (ankle), quarterback Aaron Rodgers (left wrist), left tackle Broderick Jones (neck), defensive lineman Derrick Harmon (knee) and special teams/wide receiver ace Ben Skowronek (shoulder). Jones and Harmon have already been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Buffalo Bills.
Rodgers revealed that he plans to practice Thursday and Friday to see if he can play on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.
Time is the most critical component for Rodgers to get back on the field.
“I’ve had more days for the callus to form and more healing, especially Monday and Tuesday just doing rehab. Today I did a little bit more,” Rodgers said. “Tomorrow I’ll do a little bit more and see where I’m at come Friday.”
Rodgers said his left wrist feel better than he did this time last week. However, he still hasn’t taken snaps from under center.
“Not today. We’ll see later in the week,” Rodgers said about taking snaps under center.
