PITTSBURGH — Jalen Ramsey, Pittsburgh Steelers-Cincinnati Bengals rivalry. Steelers-Bengals rivalry, Jalen Ramsey.

A month after Mike Tomiln’s defense allowed Ja’Marr Chase to reel in 16 receptions for 161 yards and a touchdown, Ramsey and the standout Bengals receiver were, uh, acquainted again on Sunday. During the fourth quarter, tensions boiled over.

Ramsey was tossed from the game for throwing a punch at Chase after the two locked horns and were both flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct briefly before. The second such infraction earned Ramsey an early trip to the locker room.

Massive rookie defensive lineman Yahya Black — and later director of player development Darrel Young — had to hold Ramsey back as he and Chase continued to try to go after one another.

Ramsey and the rest of the Steelers’ secondary were upset after the 33-31 Thursday night loss to the Bengals last month. Third-year cornerback Joey Porter Jr. didn’t like how it was officiated, but Ramsey was blunt in his assessment.

“Fuck the calls. We ain’t worried about that,” Ramsey said after the teams’ last meeting. “We have to play better, starting with myself, when the opportunity presents itself. That’s part of the game. When you have receivers that are superstars in the league, you know that they get away with shit like that. It is what it is. Next play, you’ve gotta play the game, you’ve gotta execute when you get the opportunity to execute.”

With 9:41 to go in the rematch, Chase only had two grabs for 14 yards.
