PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Beanie Bishop shared a humorous story on his interaction with Aaron Rodgers during the four-time league MVP’s visit at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in March.

“He just made a joke ’cause me and Cory Trice was working out and we had finished a workout,” Bishop said. “He was like, ‘Y’all going keep f’ing around [or] y’all going to work out?”

Aaron Rodgers kept his promise and autographed the two interception balls from Bishop in last year’s meeting between the Steelers and New York Jets. Bishop revealed that he made sure to thank the future Hall of Fame quarterback for his kind gesture.

“I was like, ‘Thanks bro for signing those balls.’ It meant a lot just being a fan of the game,” Bishop said. “Being a competitor and growing up and watching football and things like that, it’s one of those guys that you watch as a kid.”

Steelers rookie DB Beanie Bishop said he wanted @AaronRodgers12 to sign his two INT balls.

The Steelers continue to wait on Rodgers’ looming decision, which has dragged along for over two months. If the Rodgers does land with the Black and Gold, Bishop will welcome him with open arms.

“I think it’d be a cool thing,” Bishop said of the possibility of being teammates with Rodgers. “To have another guy that’s ultimately going to the Hall of Fame.”

Bishop was considered a weakness heading into last year’s Steelers-Jets game. Many thought Aaron Rodgers would pick the rookie apart, but it was the opposite. Bishop became the first undrafted rookie in NFL history to have a multi-INT game against a multi-time former MVP QB, per OptaSTATs.

Bishop was nominated for Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for his standout performance. In addition to the two interceptions, Bishop had six tackles and one tackle for loss in the Steelers’ 37-15 win over the Jets.
