Some more light has been shed on the injury Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Broderick Jones recently suffered.
Pittsburgh Steelers left tackle Broderick Jones suffered an unspecified, lower-body soft-tissue injury at practice earlier this week. More details have now surfaced about what sidelined Jones.
According to Mike DeFabo of The Athletic, Jones is dealing with “a groin issue.” He participated in individual periods during the team’s latest training camp practice but didn’t participate in any full or live contact.
Wasn't exactly sure what was ailing Broderick Jones. Was able to confirm today it's a groin issue. The LT worked during individual periods but didn't participate in any full, live contact. Tomlin said he's continuing to make progress and is working back.

He tried to practice through the injury over the weekend, but he was unable to, taking only a few reps of seven shots before shedding his uniform and watching the rest of practice.
The Steelers practice on Tuesday was then moved inside due to thunderstorms and rain, and Jones was not in uniform as the players walked down to the field at St. Vincent College.
However, head coach Mike Tomlin hinted Jones will be back to participating in full sooner rather than later.
“He worked partially today, working individually and on the side,” he said. “So, he’s moving back to full participation.”
All in all, it’s great news for Jones, who is entering a massive year. After starting at right tackle the last two seasons, the former first-round pick is back at his natural position of left tackle.
There will be no more excused for Jones, who will also have the tall task of protecting the blindside of 41-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers in 2025, and he knows it.
“I just got to keep him upright all season,” Jones said.
The 24-year-old has done everything he can to succeed this season, even dropping some weight, but only time will tell if it will be enough. The first thing he must do is stay healthy, though.
Without Jones in the lineup, both Calvin Anderson and Dylan Cook have taken snaps at left tackle for the Steelers at training camp.
