PITTSBURGH — Ahead of Sunday afternoon’s road matchup with the Detroit Lions, the Pittsburgh Steelers deepened their offensive front and secondary on Saturday, elevating lineman Jack Driscoll and defensive back Daryl Porter Jr. to the active roster from the practice squad.

Driscoll was also elevated for last week’s clash with the Miami Dolphins. Porter will be making his NFL debut.

Driscoll, a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, spent five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s played in 67 games during his career, including 18 starts. The Steelers’ offensive line has dealt with attrition lately, which has vaulted fourth-stringer Dylan Cook into action at left tackle.

The Buffalo Bills signed Porter as an undrafted free agent this offseason, but released him during training camp. Porter began his collegiate career at West Virginia before transferring to Miami. He was a two-year starter for the Hurricanes and, at the two stops, registered 108 tackles, 18 passes defended and an interception.

The Steelers were thin at cornerback last week, with starting safety Jalen Ramsey being the only one who could shift up. James Pierre (calf) missed the win over the Miami Dolphins and won’t play again this time around with the same injury.
