UNITY TWP, Pa. — Aaron Rodgers probably didn’t know too much about Beanie Bishop before throwing two interceptions to him in one game last season. Now Pittsburgh Steelers teammates, Bishop is taking advantage of the opportunity to learn skills from Rodgers that could earn him more picks.

The veteran quarterback and scrappy second-year cornerback ate lunch together before Thursday’s training camp practice.

“Just sitting down and talking to him, I could go to back to him with questions or see what he sees,” Bishop said. “I’ll probably try to watch a couple of plays with him or a couple series just to see, ‘OK, what are you looking at right here?’ So I can fool the quarterbacks a little bit.”

Bishop played in all 17 regular-season games as an undrafted rookie last season. Half of his four interceptions on the campaign came against Rodgers, who autographed the two keepsake footballs for him. Bishop is now part of a crowded room of covermen that includes third-year standout Joey Porter Jr. and seasoned offseason additions Jalen Ramey and Darius Slay.

Rodgers remembered Bishop when the passer visited the Steelers’ facility in March, cracking a joke with him about a workout.

“You know, me and him have been building a relationship through mandatory minicamp,” Bishop said. “Now, (it’s) just being able to build that relationship, getting to pick his brain. He’s one of those guys that he’s like, ‘Man, come to me if you’ve got any questions, if you wanna talk about disguising and what do I see from the defense and what ways that y’all might be able … to help yourselves.’

“He’s willing to help us.”
