The Pittsburgh Steelers have announced their Hall of Honor Class of 2025 will feature linebacker Joey Porter Sr., center Maurkice Pouncey and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger.

The announcement was made on Saturday afternoon during a ceremony at Saint Vincent College. The Steelers will honor their 2025 Hall of Honor Class on Dec. 14 when they host the Miami Dolphins at Acrisure Stadium.

“It’s called the Hall of Honor for a reason,” Porter said. “It’s an honor to be in it. To be mentioned with all the guys that played before that are in the Hall of Honor is special. Being in Pittsburgh, you know the tradition of what it means to play for the Steelers. So just to be always mentioned amongst the greats, that’s what makes it amazing. It’s an honor.”

The Steelers drafted Porter in the third round of the 1999 NFL Draft and he instantly brought a ferocity to the defense. While a member of the Steelers, he made three Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl.

Porter also spent time with the Miami Dolphins (2007-09) and Arizona Cardinals (2010-11) before hanging up his cleats following the 2011 season. He finished his career with 667 tackles, 98 sacks, 26 forced fumbles, nine fumble recoveries, 50 passes defensed, 12 interceptions and one touchdown.

Porter then spent five seasons on the Steelers coaching staff, including four as the team’s outside linebackers coach (2015-18).

The Steelers drafted Pouncey in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He lived up to the great legacy of centers in Pittsburgh and then some.

Pouncey became the first center in NFL history to be selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons (2010-12) and went on to be a nine-time Pro Bowl selection. He was voted first-team All-Pro twice (2011, 2014) and second-team All-Pro three times (2010, 2012 and 2018).

Pouncey was also named to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s All-Decade team for the 2010s before retiring following the 2020 season.

The Steelers drafted Roethlisberger in the first round of the 2004 NFL Draft. He went on to play 18 seasons and more games than any other player in Steelers’ history, with 249.

With Roethlisberger at quarterback, the Steelers had 12 postseason berths, won eight AFC North championships, appeared in five AFC Championship games and went to three Super Bowls, winning two of them.

Roethlisberger also became the youngest quarterback to ever win a Super Bowl when the team won Super Bowl XL, when he was 23, and the second-youngest quarterback to ever win a second Super Bowl when the Steelers won Super Bowl XLIII.

He finished his career with 64,088 passing yards and 418 passing touchdowns. He also added 1,373 yards and 20 touchdowns on the ground.
