At BetIdeas, the Pittsburgh Steelers have the second-best odds (+500) to land Miami Dolphins All-Pro wide receiver Tyreek Hill in a trade. The Kansas City Chiefs (+300) are the favorites.
“Aaron Rodgers threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns in Pittsburgh’s season-opening 34-32 win over the Jets. DK Metcalf is a star outside but the Steelers could use another big-play threat. The immediacy is there in Pittsburgh, as this could be Rodgers’ final season in the NFL, and the defense is among the best in the NFL” Liam Solomon of BetIdeas wrote.
Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk thinks the Steelers could be a potential landing spot for Hill.
“There’s already chatter, in the aftermath of Sunday’s win over the Jets, that the all-in Steelers could go even more all-in by making a move for (Tyreek) Hill,” Florio wrote on Monday. “Yes, Pittsburgh already has receiver DK Metcalf, who’s making $30 million per year on a five-year deal. But the Steelers don’t have a clear cut No. 2. Hill would be 1b (if not, at times, 1a) to Metcalf.”
Florio also believes Hill’s former team, the Chiefs, are a viable landing spot if he gets shipped from South Beach.
“Although Hill is signed through 2026, he’s due to make $36 million next year — with a cap number of $51.89 million,” Florio said. “It’s highly unlikely he’ll be back after 2025. So if the ship continues to sink, Hill becomes an asset that can be flipped into a draft pick.”
Appearing on 93.7 The Fan, Florio revealed that the the same source who said the Steelers wanted Jalen Ramsey said Pittsburgh wants Hill. Florio noted, however, that was prior to allegations accusing Hill of domestic violence.
Hill’s estranged wife claims that Hill abused her on multiple occasions during their 17-month marriage.
Hill’s attorney is adamant Keeta Vaccaro’s claims are false, saying in a statement to TMZ Sports the allegations “are nothing more than an attempt by Ms. Vacarro, her mother and/or her counsel to shake Mr. Hill down.”
The NFL is looking into the allegations of domestic violation against Hill by his estranged wife.
“It’s standard policy for the league to review a matter such as this,” a league spokesman told CBS.
