The Pittsburgh Steelers have elevated linebacker Mark Robinson from their practice squad to the active roster for the second consecutive week.
Robinson, the team’s seventh round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, re-signed with the team on Nov. 4, and was first elevated last week against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Against L.A., Robinson played in just one snap of special teams, covering a kickoff. He’s in the lineup because Cole Holcomb has been ruled out, missing his third straight game with an illness.
Robison was released by the Steelers at the end of training camp and signed to the New England Patriots’ practice squad. The New York Jets signed Robinson to their active roster off the Patriots’ practice squad on Sept. 23. Robinson did not last long with the Jets, however, as he was waived on Oct. 18.
In three games with the Patriots, Robinson appeared in 37 snaps, all on special teams, playing half of New England’s special teams snaps and working on five different special teams phases. He recorded three tackles in his three-week stint in New England.
In three games with the Jets, Robinson played 62 total snaps, 58 coming on special teams. He recorded two tackles.
The former Ole Miss product was selected in the 2022 NFL Draft. He converted from running back to linebacker during his collegiate career. After making a number of plays in the 2022 preseason, he carved out a role. Robinson appeared in 38 career games with the Steelers, recording four starts, 45 tackles, and three forced fumbles.
In addition to Robinson, the Steelers also elevated cornerback D’Shawn Jamison, while electing to delay the debuts of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Asante Samuel Jr.
