The Steelers filled three open slots on their practice squad Wednesday, announcing the signings of wide receiver John Rhys Plumlee, safety Darrick Forrest, and offensive tackle Jack Driscoll.

The Forrest signing was previously reported on Tuesday.

Driscoll worked out for the Steelers on Tuesday with Forrest. The offensive tackle was a fourth-round pick in 2020 by the Philadelphia Eagles. He’s since had a short stint with the Miami Dolphins before returning to the Eagles in 2024 and winning a Super Bowl as a member of the roster.

The 6’5, 312-pound lineman has appeared in 67 career games with 13 starts, spending time at tackle and guard over his NFL career.

Plumlee should be a more familiar name to Steeler fans. The UCF product signed with the Steelers as an undrafted quarterback/receiver hybrid ahead of the 2024 season. He didn’t make the final roster but has largely stayed employed in the NFL. He spent much of the 2024 season on the Jacksonville Jaguars and Seattle Seahawks’ practice squads.

Now listed just at wide receiver, Plumlee is back in Pittsburgh. The 6’0, 200-pound athlete reportedly ran a 4.53-second 40-yard dash at the Big 12 Pro Day earlier in his career.

The Steelers made room on their practice squad by releasing running back Raheem Blackshear and linebacker Jocoby Windmon on Tuesday. The team had released quarterback Logan Woodside from the practice squad even earlier on Oct. 21.
