The Pittsburgh Steelers are in first place in the AFC North after securing a 27-22 Week 14 win over the Baltimore Ravens. After the game, Aaron Rodgers praised the veteran wide receivers for helping the team have a successful practice before playing Baltimore.

Rodgers, who is 42 years old, credited the presence of Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Adam Thielen in practice throughout the week, according to Brooke Pryor of ESPN. He claimed that the Steelers had the best practice of the season leading up to the game against the Ravens. Rodgers also added that he is not taking any shots at the younger wide receivers on the roster.

“Aaron Rodgers says he thought this week was their most ‘crisp’ week of practice. He says having MVS and Adam Thielen on the field increased professionalism – adds he’s not taking a shot [at] any other WRs, but it was valuable to have that from them.”

During the postgame press conference, the former four-time MVP Award winner reiterated those comments by stating how the practice throughout the week translated on Sunday against Baltimore. Aaron Rodgers was seemingly happy with the results, as the Steelers advanced to a 7-6 record.

“I’d hate to sound like a broken record, but it’s all about practice,” said Rodgers when asked about the deep ball working against the Ravens. “When you go out there and execute practice like we did this week, it gives you the confidence to be able to make some of those plays. Thought it was our most crisp week of preparation…

“I gotta think that Marquez and Adam out there made a difference from a professionalism standpoint. Not saying those other guys don’t have professionalism… Just think, there was an extra level of focus this week.”
