Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has already made a name for himself this offseason with his new teammates. Rodgers is now revealing more about how he feels about those teammates. The quarterback says that wide receiver Calvin Austin III is one of his favorite new teammates.

Rodgers joined the Steelers right before OTAs this summer, after playing his last two seasons with the New York Jets. He is assigned the task of leading the team back to the AFC Playoffs this season.

Austin is a wide receiver who is trying to make a name for himself in the passing game this season. He has been hurt during the preseason, due to abdominal problems. Austin is considered a top candidate to start for Pittsburgh this campaign, following the loss of George Pickens.

The Steelers wideout finished his 2024 campaign with 36 receptions, for 548 yards and four touchdowns. He has played for Pittsburgh since the 2022 season, and also works as a punt returner.

Pittsburgh finished the 2024 campaign with 10 wins, before losing in the AFC Wild Card Round to the Baltimore Ravens.

Steelers are hoping for success in the 2025 campaign

Rodgers is one of several new faces on the Pittsburgh team. Another is DK Metcalf, who is considered the top target now in the Steelers passing offense. The squad also has some new players on defense expected to make an immediate impact, like defensive back Jalen Ramsey.

Pittsburgh fans hope that this new combination of players can push the team to success it hasn’t seen in years. The Steelers haven’t won a playoff game in close to a decade, despite never having had a losing season under coach Mike Tomlin. Expectations are high that Tomlin will finally win again this year.

Pittsburgh plays its final preseason game on Thursday against the Carolina Panthers. The squad then opens its season against Rodgers’ former team, the Jets, on September 7.
