UNITY TWP, Pa. — Aaron Rodgers has nearly two decades’ worth of NFL seasons on Zach Frazier. Still, the Pittsburgh Steelers’ second-year center has been a shoulder to lean on for the seasoned, future Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback.

As Rodgers continues to absorb Arthur Smith’s offense, Frazier has offered a helping hand in front of him.

“It starts and ends with that kid, though,” Rodgers said Wednesday on “The Pat McAfee Show.” “I mean, he’s got a chance to be really special in the league. A lot of the great centers I’ve had were also wrestlers, and he was a great wrestler in high school. But he’s super smart.”

Rodgers joked that Frazier, a second-year pro and the Steelers’ 2024 Rookie of the Year, is overstepping his bounds.

“He’s a little too smug for my liking, though,” Rodgers said. “He’s out there making calls for me right now, telling me if I got the right check. So I gotta get his ass in line a little bit and let him know who’s in charge.”

Rodgers opened up a little more about the interaction when he met with the media afterward.

“I told him the other day, I said, ‘Don’t get used to that,'” Rodgers said. “I said, ‘At some point, I’m gonna be making the calls for you.'”

After starting 15 games as the Steelers’ fulcurm, Frazier was honored as part of last season’s Pro Football Writers Association All-Rookie team. He was the first Steelers offensive lineman to earn such an accolade since Maurkice Pouncey in 2010.
