The Patriots have the financial capacity to sign or acquire a superstar talent, but they might have trouble trying to convince them to come cover.

DK Metcalf isn’t set to become a free agent until 2026, but New England could try to swing a trade and hope to sign him to a lucrative contract extension. That likely was on Katie Nolan’s mind when she had the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver on her “Casuals” podcast.

Nolan, a Massachusetts native and Boston sports fan, tried to sell Metcalf on the idea of living in the Bay State. But the 27-year-old wasn’t budging on her sales pitch.

“No, it’s not a desirable place in my opinion,” Metcalf told Nolan about Massachusetts. “That’s a great organization though. A great organization, though. A great organization.”

Nolan reiterated how great it is living in Massachusetts, which prompted Metcalf to joke that she was on New England’s payroll.

Luckily for Metcalf, he doesn’t actually need to live in Massachusetts if he were on the Patriots. Like many other players, he could choose to live in one of the other fine states in New England.

But the star wideout’s answer certainly wasn’t encouraging to hear for fans who dream of Drake Maye tossing touchdowns to him.
