Star New York Jets Player Could Be Traded Soon

Teams are back in action Sunday, for NFL Week 4, but not the 0-3 New York Jets, who will have to wait until Monday night to take on the 0-3 Miami Dolphins. Both teams are naturally desperate for a win, but the Jets will get a natural boost from starting quarterback Justin Fields‘s return to the lineup.

While the Jets could get a short-term boost from their quarterback’s return, they need to start generating some wins too. If not, we could see a firesale in New York.

Specifically, SNY’s Jets expert Connor Hughes says that starting running back Breece Hall could emerge as one of the team’s top trade candidates this season. In the final year of his rookie deal, Hall would typically be viewed as a prime trade candidate no matter what. If the Jets can’t find a way to become competitive, then seeing what they can get for Hall makes a lot of sense.

Hall, 24, could help a lot of teams looking to boost their running game. The 2022 second-round pick started the season on the right foot, racking up 107 rushing yards on 18 rushing attempts. He’s gained just 50 yards on 19 carries since.

Though he’s yet to have a 1,000-yard rushing season, Hall has had years of 1,585 and 1,359 yards from scrimmage, showing off his ability to move the chains as a receiver as well as a rusher.

While Hall could very well be a piece that the Jets want to be a long-term building block of their team, they also have youngsters Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis under contract for multiple seasons. As a result, despite Hall’s talent, the Jets may be better off seeing what type of trade compensation they can get for the speedster before they risk losing him to free agency later this offseason.
