After witnessing Joe Judge lead his team to a 10-23 record (win pct. of .303), the New York Giants finally had enough. Judge’s firing led to Brian Daboll’s hiring.
The former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator led the Giants to a surprise playoff berth and even won a Wild Card game after a 9-7-1 debut season. That lone postseason appearance has seemingly bought Daboll the type of coaching security many other coaches covet. He’s led the Giants to just an 11-33 record since (win pct. of .250).
After Sunday’s latest loss, a 24-20 defeat to the Bears, more speculation is mounting as to when the Giants might put coach Daboll on the chopping block too.
The latest comes from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, who reports that there was further speculation of the Giants being on the verge of firing Daboll after their heartbreaking 33-21 loss to Denver in Week 7. Now that the Giants have lost their fourth game in a row, will ownership reconsider their stance on Daboll?
We can’t imagine a four-point loss would be the last straw for coach Daboll. Yet, the manner in which the Giants lost, suffering yet another mind-numbing defeat despite being up by 10 points with just four minutes to play, could lead to a rash decision from ownership.
