The Carolina Panthers have been to two Super Bowls, both resulting in losses. They lost Super Bowl XXXVIII to the New England Patriots in 2003 and Super Bowl 50 to the Denver Broncos in 2015.
It appears that the franchise might be headed back for its third appearance, not in a few years, but for the upcoming season.
We haven’t seen the Panthers play for a Lombardi Trophy in nearly a decade. The team has had its ups and downs over the last 30 years, from two Super Bowl appearances to seven straight losing seasons.
One thing you can always count on is that this franchise will be overlooked when it comes to assessing the competition.
Now, it appears that we may be on the cusp of seeing them take a major leap.
The Carolina Panthers last made the playoffs in 2017, when they lost the Wild Card Round. They’ve been in the playoffs eight times in their 30 seasons.
The 2025 season will see the franchise not only break that streak, but they will be heading to the Super Bowl.
This is all based on things that have happened in the past.
In 2002-2003, the Ohio State Buckeyes won the National Championship; the Panthers opened the season against the Jaguars, and Jennifer Lopez divorced her husband. This all led to the Panthers going to the Super Bowl that year.

In 2014-2015, the Buckeyes won it all, the Panthers opened the season against the Jaguars, Jennifer Lopez divorced another husband, and the franchise went back to the Super Bowl.

In 2024-2025, the Buckeyes just won it all, the Panthers are opening against the Jags, and Lopez divorced Ben Affleck.
The Carolina Panthers didn’t have a great 2024 season, but they seemingly found the answer to whether or not Bryce Young can be their franchise quarterback.
Now that they have the quarterback position moving forward, they can focus on building the rest of the roster.
With that being said, oddsmakers have little to no faith in them being actual Super Bowl contenders this upcoming season.
As of May 30, the Carolina Panthers’ odds of winning the Super Bowl, +15000, place them 27th in the NFL.
