Disgruntled football fans are calling for an investigation into the Green Bay Packers after a bizarre ending to Sunday’s road game against the Minnesota Vikings.

The Green Bay Packers rested key starters for Sunday’s regular-season finale, having already locked up the No. 7 seed. Third-stringer Clayton Tune got the start, with Jordan Love and Malik Willis getting rest.

Trailing 16-0 with one second left on the clock, Matt LaFleur called for a field goal to avoid the shutout. Brandon McManus booted a 24-yarder to break the shutout, with Minny winning 16-3.

Well, the Packers aren’t alone. Tight end Theo Johnson attended the New York Knicks game on Friday, even though the New York Giants ruled him out for Week 18 with an illness. Angry fans called for the NFL to investigate the Giants, believing they were deliberately tanking.

Matt LaFleur’s Green Bay Packers are the only seventh seed to win a postseason game in the expanded playoff format era (2020). We’ll soon find out if they can double up on the feat.
