Social media detectives believe they’ve uncovered evidence that Shedeur Sanders is the Cleveland Browns’ No. 1 quarterback.
The Browns’ QB1 job is by far the most compelling training camp battle across the NFL. 40-year-old Joe Flacco has been regarded as the front-runner, though Kenny Pickett, Shedeur Sanders and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel promise to give the 2023 Comeback Player of the Year a run for his money.
Head coach Kevin Stefanski hasn’t provided a clear-cut indicator on his plans at quarterback. In contrast, New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Russell Wilson was the starter over Jameis Winston and Jaxson Dart after the latter was selected in round one.
The Browns shared a video of veteran tight end David Njoku mic’d up during last week’s minicamp session, and there was an interesting tidbit with Shedeur Sanders that caught fans’ attention.
At the 0:56 mark of the video, a Browns assistant can be heard going over to Sanders and telling him, “Your placement is just outstanding. Njoku then tells Sanders, “Throw it up, I’ll take care of the rest.”

Fans are now convinced that the interactions here between Njoku and Sanders mean the rookie will be Cleveland’s starting QB come Week 1:

In his final season of college football, Shedeur Sanders completed 74 percent of pass attempts for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
Without question, the shock of this year’s draft was Shedeur Sanders’ fall. He was widely expected to be a top-10 pick, with some experts believing he’d go as high as No. 3 to the Giants.
Falling out of round one was one thing, but to slip all the way to the Browns in round five at No. 144 overall was truly something else.
