Dillon Gabriel is currently in a quarterback battle.
The Cleveland Browns are entering the 2025 NFL season with one of the league’s most crowded and uncertain quarterback rooms.
After using two draft picks on promising young signal-callers, Dillon Gabriel in the third round and Shedeur Sanders in the fifth, the Browns have signaled a clear desire to find their next franchise quarterback. With veterans, Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco also competing and star Deshaun Watson sidelined for the season with a torn Achilles, the battle for the starting QB spot is anything but settled.
Gabriel, taken in the third round, is not doing himself any favors this week.
One piece of footage from OTAs shows the rookie quarterback sailing a pass to nobody in particular.
With virtually no pressure, Dillon Gabriel threw a pass right to the ground.
Why didn’t we take that safety again

The Cleveland Browns surprised some by selecting quarterback Dillon Gabriel in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but the former Oregon Ducks signal-caller might prove to be an ideal fit going forward.
In his lone season with the Ducks, Gabriel completed 72.9 percent of his passes, throwing for 3,857 yards, 30 touchdowns, and six interceptions, and leading Oregon to the College Football Playoff.
“Andrew Berry is turning out to be one of the worst GMs in Brown’s history. He’s lucky the NFL gifted him Shedeur sanders on a silver platter,” one fan said.

“I see why they giving him more reps.. he’s going to need every edge up to compete with Shedure. When Blackballing a 1st rounder fails 😆 🤣 😂,” a second fan added.

“Lol, because the Browns wanted to be petty and try not to draft a door, but in the end, had to because he was still there, and they knew Dillon Gabriel is not franchise quarterback level doesn’t change that their pettiness sabotaged their team drafting a QB they don’t need tho,” a third fan stated.
