Jaxson Dart just might be the next star.
The New York Giants took the former Ole Miss quarterback with the No. 25 pick in the NFL Draft after trading up with the Houston Texans. The Giants were linked to Dart, but no one expected them to use their third overall pick for him. The son of Giants general manager Joe Schoen fueled speculation that the organization would draft a quarterback after he reportedly shared a video of Dart on social media.
Dart was No. 3 in the nation with 4,279 passing yards last season, an Ole Miss single-season record. He became only the third Ole Miss quarterback selected in the first round, joining all-time legends Archie Manning in 1971 and Eli Manning in 2004.
The Giants have seemingly made a decision that could change the course of their franchise for years.
That was even more evident during mini camp.
At this point in the New York Giants’ offseason, observations should be taken with a grain of salt.
With that said, rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart is already looking the part as the No. 25 overall pick put on an impressive show during rookie minicamp over the weekend.
One piece of footage shows the incoming rookie in practice and impressively spinning the ball in his hands before he lets loose a long and accurate pass to a wide receiver downfield.

One final fan added: “I like the shoulder dip too, like he was gonna zip it fast. Peyton Manning was great at that. Romo would do it too. I’ve seen defenders bite on it, they take that one or two steps to the side…and then the QB goes deep…and the defender never gets those steps back. Easy TD.”
