Social media detectives noticed something concerning about Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers that should have the fanbase worried.

After waiting three months for a decision, the Steelers and future Hall of Famer agreed to a one-year contract worth $10 million guaranteed and a max value of $19.5 million. Rodgers pondered retirement after he was released by the New York Jets, but decided to come back for at least one more season.

There’s plenty of excitement around Rodgers’ arrival in Pittsburgh, and for good reason. 2024 was considered a “down” year for Rodgers, but he still threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions on one of the league’s worst teams.

If he can post similar production in 2025, a 41-year-old Rodgers will also be an upgrade over most (if not all) of the quarterbacks the Steelers have used since 2019.

However, some fans on social media think they discovered something worrisome about Aaron Rodgers during a recent team practice. Specifically, they noticed a lack of mobility in a foot-moving drill:

Yikes: Steelers QB Aaron Rodgers has gone viral for looking extremely SLOW during drills at training camp.

One fan even said that he needs a "wheelchair."

Rodgers has looked every bit of 40 this camp — sluggish reads, missed throws, and zero juice in the pocket.

Rodgers is almost two years removed from surgery on a season-ending Achilles injury he suffered in his Jets debut, but he’s also 41 years of age. But does he really have limited mobility at this phase of his career, or was he dogging it during practice? We’ll find out soon enough.

Aaron Rodgers & Steelers Open 2025 Season At Jets

The NFL schedule makers gave fans a special treat by pitting the Steelers against the Jets in Week 1. Rodgers is sure to get some boos when he makes his Pittsburgh debut against his former team at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 7.

Fittingly, the Jets’ starting quarterback is Justin Fields, who spent part of the 2024 season as Pittsburgh’s starter before Russell Wilson returned from injury. Fields signed a two-year deal with the Jets in free agency.
