The Washington Commanders will sport a different but familiar look during the 2025 season.
What’s new is old, as the Commanders are set to wear what is the same look the team had while reaching four Super Bowls.
The Commanders unveiled their new “Super Bowl Era” alternate uniforms that will be worn for three games this season, including their Christmas Day showdown against the Dallas Cowboys.
The Commanders won three Super Bowls in a 10-season span from 1982 to ’91. The white jerseys feature burgundy numbers with a gold outline on the front, while the burgundy pants have white and gold stripes down the leg.
Washington is also bringing back the gold face mask on the helmet for the alternate look.
That is not all that the Washington Commanders did.
Lost in the unveiling of the Super Bowl era jerseys was a hidden message to the former nickname of the team.
The team is incorporating the old “R” into the Raise Hail slogan.

The Commanders are also planning to build a new stadium on the site of the old RFK Stadium, with the hope of opening it in 2030.
The Washington Commanders lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Championship game with a score of 55-23.
Although the season may have ended on a bad note, the year was a complete success that no one saw coming.
The franchise was in the NFC Championship game for the first time since the 1991 season. They also did it while riding the back of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels.
The team has made several notable moves this offseason, including adding WR Michael Gallup, DT Javon Kinlaw, WR Jaylin Lane, WR Deebo Samuel, and OT Laremy Tunsil.
