One of the New England Patriots team planes was flown to and from the U.S. naval base and detention center at Guantánamo Bay in Cuba on Monday.

The infamous U.S. military base is now being used as a detention center for deportees and some other immigrants the Trump administration shuttled out of the country and to a notorious Salvadoran prison.

A spokesperson for the Patriots said the team’s plane was not used for “any kind of deportation flight” and that “there were no detainees on the plane,” per The Daily Mail.

A Patriots spokesperson acknowledged that the team planes are chartered to the Department of Defense ‘to move military personnel as well as other government agencies with no financial gain to the organization.’

The purpose of the trip remains unclear.

The New England Patriots own two planes available for charter, and team owner Robert Kraft has previously used them for personal projects, including aid missions.

The Patriots plane’s trip to Guantanamo was highlighted on Monday by users on the social media platform.

The Patriots love the military, and they’ve shown it many times in the past.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft loaned one of the team’s two airplanes to fly U.S. soldiers from Germany to be home on American soil for Memorial Day in 2022.

Kraft also flew Parkland High School students and families to Washington, D.C., for the “March for Our Lives” rally in the wake of the shooting.
