Tonight we have a blockbuster matchup in the first Sunday Night Football game of the 2025 NFL season. In what could well be a preview of the AFC Championship game, the Buffalo Bills host the Baltimore Ravens. What a great game to conclude the first Sunday of the 2025 season.
The headliner for the Bills is their star quarterback, Josh Allen. He’s got a cannon for an arm and runs extremely well. Allen is a perennial MVP candidate and the reigning NFL MVP. Last year the Allen-led Bills offense ranked 2nd in the NFL in points scored. Allen and the Bills have been knocking on the door of a Super Bowl for years. Maybe this is the year they finally get there.
The Ravens are another perennial contender, led by their own superstar quarterback, Lamar Jackson. Jackson, the greatest running quarterback the NFL has ever seen, had the finest season of his stellar NFL career last year. Many thought he deserved the NFL MVP award over Allen. Unfortunately for Jackson and the Ravens, Allen and the Bills ended their Super Bowl dreams with a scintillating 27 – 25 victory in the divisional round of the playoffs last season. The Ravens seek some measure of revenge tonight, though a season opening win can never make up for a playoff loss.
