Which receivers in the 2025 NFL Draft best fit the Rams offense?

While the Los Angeles Rams signed wide receiver Davante Adams and brought back Tutu Atwell, they are a team that still has a need at the position. Both Adams and Atwell are essentially on one-year deals. With the Rams being an 11 personnel team, they could draft a wide receiver and rotate them in as a rookie, taking the same development path as Josh Reynolds and Van Jefferson.

Since the 2020 NFL Draft, I’ve done a series called Snead’s Snacks. In other words, we’re going to find and look at common themes and traits of previous Les Snead draft picks and see which players in the upcoming NFL Draft fit the mold for the Rams.

The focus for today’s edition of “Snead’s Snacks” will be on offense at wide receiver. In past years, I’ve correctly predicted Ernest Jones as a potential draft pick.

2025 Snead’s Snacks

Notable Past Rams Drafted Players

Puka Nacua, WR, 5th Round

Tutu Atwell, WR, 2nd Round

There’s a lot of controversy with the TuTu Atwell pick given that he was selected over Creed Humphrey. When he has gotten the opportunity to shine, there have been times where he’s looked like a solid wide receiver. The Rams brought him back for a fifth year and hopefully have a plan to use him more.

Van Jefferson, WR, Florida – 2nd Round

Van Jefferson came into the NFL as a player with a high floor but low ceiling. That’s exactly what he developed into for the Rams. Jefferson was a fine player and had some really good moments. However, Jefferson was traded in 2023 after the fit no longer made sense.

Cooper Kupp, WR, Eastern Washington – 3rd Round

Cooper Kupp was probably the best draft pick in the McVay-era. He won the triple crown and Super Bowl MVP in 2021. Kupp fell to the third-round because of his slow 40-time and he played at a small school. The Rams took a chance and to say it paid off would be an understatement.

Josh Reynolds, WR, Texas A&M – 4th Round

Josh Reynolds was very good for a fourth-round pick. He was a solid third or fourth wide receiver. Following the years under Jeff Fisher, the Rams needed to rebuild the wide receiver room and Reynolds was a big part of that rebuild.

Notable Past Rams Undrafted Players/Free Agents

Brandin Cooks, WR, Oregon State – 2018 Trade

Robert Woods, WR, USC – 2017 FA

Common Traits The Rams Look For in Wide Receivers

They Don’t Prioritize Athletic Traits

The Rams are very trait-focused when it comes to wide receiver rather than focusing on the pure athleticism. Size doesn’t seem to be a big factor as Tutu Atwell didn’t have great...
