Snaps and analysis from the Broncos’ win over the Chiefs
Mile High Report Mile High Report

The inactives for this Denver Broncos win over the Kansas City Chiefs were Pat Surtain, Nate Adkins, Alex Singleton, Jonah Elliss, Geron Christian, Jordan Jackson, and Sai’vion Jones.

The entire starting OL and Bo Nix played every offensive snap. Frank Crum played two snaps as the 6th OL. He also played on kicking and kick block snaps – one of which we will remember for a long time.

Courtland Sutton played 57 of 62 snaps at WR which was a huge snap load. Franklin played 41 and Bryant played 35. Mims only got 15 and LJH got 9 in his return to the Denver active roster. Neither of those two got a target, but Mims had a carry (for 2 yards) and was a weapon as a punt returner. LJH was brought in after the Broncos waived Trent Sherfield. Michael Bandy was waived and resigned to the practice squad.

Adam Trautman got 41 snaps at TE while Evan Engram got 25 and Marcedes Lewis got 12.

RJ Harvey got the most RB snaps with 38. McLaughlin and Badie only got 8. Adam Prentice got a season high 19 snaps on offense. That was also his season high in off. snap % with 31%.

The Broncos may need to bring in a larger RB since Harvey is currently the heaviest at 205. There are some larger RBs on NFL practice squads. Any of these RBs could be a Bronco tomorrow since they are currently on practice squads.

Of course, the Broncos could give the ball to Prentice who is 245 lbs or maybe even line up Dondrea Tillman in the backfield. He looked like he had some moves during his two interception returns. He’s listed at 265.

The defense continues to dominate now having seven of eleven games this season in which they allowed fewer than 20 points.

Four defensive players played every snap: Moss, Hufanga, Strnad and Jones. For Strnad this was only the second time in his career that he played every snap on defense. The first time was in the embarrassing loss to the Browns back in 2021. That was the game where Case Keenum and D’Ernest Johnson made the Bronco defense look silly. I don’t blame you if you have wiped that game from your memory banks.

Dre Greenlaw got 43 snaps at the other OLB position and Garrett Wallow got one defensive snap.

At safety Devon Key played 3 snaps JL Skinner played 1. That means that we had at least three snaps in heavy nickle with 3 safeties on the field (since Jones and Hufanga played every snap on D).

At CB McMillian and KAD played 61 and 47. Jahdae Barron played a career high 35 defensive snaps and would have had a pick-six were it not for a tick-tack penalty on Moss.

At OLB the Broncos were without Jonah Elliss due to a hammy issue. Cooper, Bonitto, Que and Tillman played 43, 40, 29 and 28 snaps. That means we went really light on...
