Snap counts and analysis from the big comeback win over the Giants

Since the Broncos parted ways with Sam Ehlinger, there were only five game-day inactives: JT Gray, Jaleel McLaughlin, Jonah Elliss, Jordan Jackson, and Sai’vion Jones.

Only three of five offensive linemen and Bo Nix played every offensive snap. Garett Bolles missed one snap. Mike McGlinchey missed four. Alex Palczewski made his first start of the season at guard in place of Ben Powers AND Matt Peart who are on the IR and played every snap. Frank Crum was activated and used as the 6th offensive lineman on four plays. Calvin Throckmorton also played two offensive snaps. It was the first offensive snaps this season for both guys.

The only two offensive players who were active and didn’t play were Jarett Stidham and Alex Forsyth.

At WR Courtland Sutton, Troy Franklin, Marvin Mims, Pat Bryant and Trent Sherfield played 76, 50, 43, 41 and 9 snaps. Our WRs got 31 of the 50 targets with Sutton and Franklin each getting 10. Only Sherfield was not targetted.

Evan Engram got the majority of the TE snaps with 46. Nate Adkins and Adam Trautman got 26 and 25. Engram got 8 targets and Adkins got 3. Trautman was not targetted.

JK Dobbins get the majority of the RB snaps with 40, but Tyler Badie got 21 with RJ Harvey getting only 20. Adam Prentice got 7 at FB.

On defense we only had two players play every snap – Pat Surtain and Alex Singleton. We had two guys play all but one snap – Talanoa Hufanga and Riley Moss.

Brandon Jones played 67 snaps at the other safety. PJ Locke played 3 snaps at S and JL Skinner played 1.

Ja’Quan McMillian played 37 as the slot CB. JahDae Barron played 17 as CB4.

At ILB Justin Strnad played 41 snaps and Dre Greenlaw played 21. It will be interesting to see if his one game suspension is upheld after he got in a refs face after the game was over.

Our OLB group was missing Elliss again, so Nik Bonitto, Jonathan Cooper, Dondrea Tillman and Que Robinson played 48, 37, 35 and 34 snaps. This was a career high for Que.

On the DL we had Zach Allen – 54 , DJ Jones – 35 , JFM – 42, Malcolm Roach – 39, and Eyioma Uwazurike – 30, so we didn’t ride Zach quite as hard this game as we have. The Snap distribution was pretty even.

The only two active defensive players who did not play on defense were Kris Abrams-Draine, and Karene Reid.

There were 4 guys who played on 70% or more of the ST snaps Key, Skinner, Tillman and Strnad.

The KO coverage this game was much improved over the last game with no KOR going for more than 30 yards. The Giants did start three drives at their own 35 or better, but this is a dramatic improvement over the Jets game where the Jets started two drives in Bronco territory.

I don’t know that I will...
