Skyy Moore had his first official practice with the San Francisco 49ers. According to reporters on hand, Moore participated in 11-on-11 and red zone drills. Moore wore No. 6.
NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco tweeted the 49ers placed veteran cornerback Tre Brown on the Injured Reserve, making him ineligible to return this season. Brown signed with the 49ers this past offseason. Brown started for the Seattle Seahawks to begin last season.
It may come as a surprise to some, but Brown hasn’t proven that he brings more to the table than any of the younger cornerbacks on the roster.
Brown only received $165,000 in guaranteed salary. His base salary for 2025 is $1,170,000. So, it’s not as if the Niners have a significant investment in the soon-to-be 28-year-old. Brown is on a one-year deal. He’ll be an unrestricted free agent next offseason.
Dallis Flowers and Chase Lucas appear to have a stranglehold on the final cornerback spots. We’ll find out if the team leaves a spot for Darrell Luter Jr. or Jakob Robinson, or if those two end up on the practice squad.
