Skip Bayless is getting slammed online following his statement on the shooting incident that took place in New York City on Monday, having probably shared the most ill-advised tweet of his career.
Bayless has received some serious criticism for his social media activity in the past, with his posts on Dak Prescott losing his brother and Damar Hamlin nearly dying on a football field upsetting just about everyone.
You’d think he’d learn from that, but the 73-year-old still takes people’s blood past boiling point with his strange takes.
As for the pertinent circumstances, a lone gunman killed four people and injured another at 345 Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan before turning his weapon on himself. According to NYC Mayor Eric Adams, he had targeted the NFL offices but took the wrong bank of elevators.
The note found in his pocket seemed to corroborate this as it bore a grievance against the league for refusing to warn players about the dangers of head injuries, more so CTE, which he believed he was suffering from.
As noted above, four people lost their lives as a result of the shooting, while another was critically injured, but Skip was just thankful the shooter took the wrong elevator and didn’t end up at NFL headquarters like he planned.
The post would have been okay had the shooter not ended up killing anyone because he took the wrong bank, but it’s as if the former FS1 analyst didn’t care that several families are mourning tragic losses because of the senseless act.
“Thank God the New York City shooter apparently took the wrong bank of elevators and didn’t make it to the NFL floors,” he tweeted. “He reportedly bizarrely blamed the NFL for what he believed to be his CTE suffered from playing high-school football.”
“Bro said Thank God other ppl died 😭,” someone wrote in the comments.

“Skip, this is just a terrible tweet. What’s it matter what floor he went on? He still went and killed innocent people,” a third wrote.

“What an asinine thing to say. Only thing to be thankful for is that more people weren’t hurt in this ordeal. You should apologize for your lack of thinking prior to posting such drivel,” someone else shared.
