Young Raiders receiver didn’t get a lot of great passes come his way

We all now Tre tucker didn’t have a great second season in 2024 and he played starter’s time for much of the season.

The speedy third-round pick in 2023 from Cincinnati was inconsistent and put up underwhelming numbers most weeks. He ended the season with 47 catches for 539 yards, which is pretty underwhelming for a player who was a starter for most of the season. Tucker was targeted 81 times, so his 47 receptions was is not impressive.

But perhaps there was a reason for Tucker’s lack of production? He didn’t get a lot of great passes thrown his way. According to this recent tweet by Joe Marino, Tucker had the fourth lowest catchable target rate in the NFL last season.

We all know how inaccurate the Raiders’ quarterback were last season, especially on deep routes where Tucker flourishes. So, perhaps with the much more accurate Geno Smith taking over, the Raiders will get more production from Tucker this year.

With rookies Jack Bech and Dont’e Thornton, a taller version of Tucker, joining the rotation, Tucker may play less. But if he can get some decent ball thrown his way, he can be a weapon.
