Rumors have been circulating of Turner working with Bill Belicheck and he gave his thoughts on the situation
The Las Vegas Raiders made the change to Scott Turner as the OC during their bye week. While the Raiders are moving the ball better during the second half of the season, this has led to points or wins.
However, Turner is respected in most coaching circles for his offensive skills. One of his admirers is new North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick. Belichick is headed to the college ranks, and the word on the street is Turner could be joining him as the offensive coordinator.
The Raiders offensive coordinator was asked about the rumors during Thursday’s press conference. He told Adam Hill of the Las Vegas-Review Journal that nobody has talked to him about the situation.
“Nobody has talked to me other than the people who saw it on TV. I’m focused on the Raiders. I owe it to these players to get them ready to play and present themselves as best they possibly can.”
There is a chance Turner won’t be back with the Raiders next year if Antonio Pierce is let go. Even if nobody has talked to him about it now, it could become a possibility in the future. Belichick hasn’t announced any of his staff for 2025, and Turner could be on the list if he is free.
For now, Turner will focus on the Raiders and attempt to put points against Jacksonville.
