With the 2025 NFL regular season looming in a matter of weeks, there is a lot of excitement around the Las Vegas Raiders’ fan base and inside the team’s building. There is belief new head coach Pete Carroll will have an instant positive impact on this team. Carroll has said he expects to win big right sway.

So, yes, there are expectations.

However, that doesn’t mean those viewed are shared nationally.

Recently, USA Today released its annual regular-season projections. The Raiders didn’t fare well.

The newspaper is projecting Las Vegas will finish last in the AFC West with a 5-12 record. The reason behind that poor projection is how tough the division is and a poor defense.

If the Raiders do follow through with a 5-12 season after making several additions, it would be a pretty disaappoitning season.

Will USA Today be right or silly wrong?

Time will tell.
