The Las Vegas Raiders are in Foxboro on Sunday to take on the New England Patriots. It will be the start of the Pete Carroll era, where he tries to leave his mark as head coach of the franchise.
Before the trip to the East for the Raiders, they lost a wide receiver on the roster. Amari Cooper decided to retire after not performing well in practice. It left the Raiders with a hole at the wide receiver position heading into the first week of the season.
A good story from the preseason was Alex Bachman. Bachman has been traveling on practice squads during his time in the NFL. The loss of Cooper opened up an opportunity for the journeyma,n and he was elevated to the active roster on Saturday.
Bachman had four receptions for 51 yards in the preseason and can help on special teams. He was expected to make the football team, but the Raiders decided to go the route of Cooper. Now, Bachman gets his chance to display his abilities in Week 1. Terell Edmunds was elevated as well to add depth at the safety position.
