There was a big reason why new Las Vegas Raiders’ head coach Pete Carroll chose to move forward with Geno Smith as his starting quarterback.
The two were together with the Seattle Seahawks and have won together. Carroll thinks they can do it again.
If Carroll and Smith do, indeed, lead the Raiders to the playoffs, they will make history. According to the Associated Press, Carroll and Smith would become just the second coach-quarterback combination to make the playoffs, joining coach Don Shula and quarterback Earl Morrall. They did it with the Baltimore Colts and Miami Dolphins more than 50 years ago.
Carroll and Smith led the Seahawks to the playoffs in 2022. Now, they will try to do it again for the Silver and Black.
