The Las Vegas Raiders’ defense hasn’t been perfect so far this season, but it has been excellent to start games.
Sunday, at Indianapolis, the Raiders forced a three-and-out for the fourth time in five games Sunday to start the game. It was the first time since 2018 that the Raiders have accomplished that feat and the second time this century.
And the good starts is an extension from last season for holdover defensive coordinator Patrick Graham’s unit. According to the Raiders’ public relations department, the team has held opponents under 30 yards on the opening drive for eight straight games. It’s the longest active streak in the NFL.
So, there is, no doubt, this defense comes ready to play to start games. The rest of the game? Well, that can be another story.
