The Las Vegas Raiders’ NFL draft selections have been a struggle during recent years. It is part of the reason the Raiders haven’t been able to get over the hump and achieve success. While the Gruden era has been marred by most of the issues with the NFL draft, the top picks for the Raiders haven’t led to great results.

However, there have been a few gems that have become stars in the NFL. Of course, there is Maxx Crosby, who is one of the most respected defensive ends in football. His motor and endurance have helped him become one of the most consistent defensive players in the league. During his six seasons, he has recorded over 10 sacks three times.

The other is Brock Bowers. He was a surprise selection for the Raiders but had a historic season for the team with 112 receptions, setting a rookie record. He was voted as the best tight end in football by NFL coaches and executives who were polled by ESPN.

On Friday, these two players received even more recognition. Crosby and Bowers were announced for their rankings on the NFL Network’s top 100. Bowers at 24 and Crosby landed at 21.

It is no surprise that both players ended up on the list. Crosby being this high after ending last season with an injury displays how players view his ability as a pass rusher. Bowers breaking out as a rookie and ranking in the top 25 shows that there is a chance he could land even higher with a competent quarterback.

Even if the Raiders don’t have high expectations, they have cornerstones to build around and help lead them to becoming contenders.
