Will Aaron Rodgers play for the Tennessee Titans next season?
The Tennessee Titans are obviously in the market for a new starting quarterback this offseason. General manager Mike Borgonzi and president of football operations Chad Brinker own the No. 1 overall selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. They could decide to select a quarterback like Cam Ward or Shedeur Sanders, a better prospect like Abdul Carter or Travis Hunter, or trade the pick in exchange for additional draft capital.
Recently, the Titans have been linked to trading the pick. That strategy would make sense. The general consensus is Sanders or Ward aren’t worth the No. 1 overall selection, and the Titans have discussed making 12 selections in the top 100 of the next three drafts. Borgonzi and Brinker can’t necessarily achieve that without trading down.
If so, the Titans would target a veteran quarterback in free agency. One potentially intriguing option will be available. The New York Jets are parting ways with Aaron Rodgers, according to multiple reports.
The Jets acquired Rodgers thinking the future Hall of Fame QB would position them for instant postseason success. That projection came nowhere near reaching fruition. He suffered a season-ending Achilles injury seconds into his 2023 debut with the team, and the 2024 Jets finished 5-12.
Rodgers’ 2024 form is up for debate. The 10-time Pro Bowler threw for 3,897 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. That’s certainly far more production than Will Levis and Mason Rudolph provided the Titans with.
Rodgers makes weekly appearances on The Pat McAfee show. He recently hinted at possessing interest in playing for the Titans in 2025. Will the Titans reciprocate his interest?
It’s worth noting Titans head coach Brian Callahan has a history of success alongside pocket passing quarterbacks like Rodgers. Callahan has coached QBs like Derek Carr, Matthew Stafford, Joe Burrow, and Peyton Manning throughout his career. Rodgers’ skill set is more in line with those signal callers than Levis ever was.
