Myles Garrett has requested a trade.

Myles Garrett — former no. 1 overall pick, six-time Pro Bowler, four-time First-Team All-Pro, reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year — has requested a trade.

“As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl — and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” Garrett said in a statement. “The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

Garrett is arguably the greatest defensive player of his generation. The NFL began tracking sacks as an official stat in 1982; since then, Garrett became the first player to reach 100 career sacks before his 29th birthday and the first player to record four straight 14-sack seasons.

He joined Reggie White, John Randle, DeMarcus Ware, Jared Allen, Bruce Smith, and Lawrence Taylor as the only NFL players to record seven straight 10-sack seasons.

You get the point. Garret rules.

Garrett, 29, is nearing the end of his prime as a professional quarterback hunter... but that’s really the only negative I can offer. He’s only missed four games in the past five seasons and plays the most important position in football bar quarterback.

Don’t let national reports about Cleveland not wanting to trade him fool you. Garrett has the power to get out, and he will. The real question is whether Garrett sees Jacksonville as a place where he can reach his Super Goal.

If we’re being real, he probably doesn’t. And while I don’t think the Browns can ultimately refuse to trade him, maybe they’ll refuse to trade him anywhere within the AFC.

But c’mon! It’s the offseason! This is a fan blog! Let’s have some fun!

IF Myles Garrett were open to coming to Jacksonville, what would you offer in a trade?
