Today, it’s the generally risk-adverse nature of the franchise, and whether that’s something that should change as the club transitions from Mike Tomlin to Mike McCarthy. The problem with innovation is that at the NFL level, it usually requires some kind of risk to go along with the reward, and the Steelers as a franchise are generally not in a place where they should be assuming the most risks.
