For now, at least, Aidan O”Connell will not be in the Las Vegas Raiders’ quarterback mix.

Sunday, in his first game being on the 53-man roster this season, the third-year quarterback was the No. 3, emergency quarterback Sunday against the Cleveland Browns. Thus, the only way he could have played in the game had their been injuries to starter Geno Smith and backup Kenny Pickett.

Pickett has been Smith’s backup all season. The Raiders traded a fifth-round draft pick to the Browns for Pickett two days after he O’Connell broke his wrist in the final preseason game.

O’Connell had been on the injured reserve up until Week 12.

There is, of course, a chance the Raiders can move O’Connell ahead of Pickett at some point in the final six weeks of the season, likely based on future practice competitions.

Who would you like to see be the backup for the Raiders the rest of the season?
