Maxwell Hairston has some serious explaining to do.

An alleged incident during Hairston’s freshman year at Kentucky resurfaced in a civil lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court on Tuesday.

A former University of Kentucky student alleges that Hairston sexually assaulted her in her dorm room at UK in March 2021

His career with the Bills hasn’t officially started as of yet. Hairston, now a rookie with the Buffalo Bills, was a minor at the time.

The woman claims she and Hairston first met in early 2021 outside the Kentucky residence hall where they both lived.

In the lawsuit, Maxwell Hairston barged his way to her dorm room as Rebecca Hendryx claims she physically resisted his advances, only for him to forcibly remove her clothing and sexually assault her.

‘Defendant, without Plaintiff inviting or asking him to come in, entered the Plaintiff’s dorm room before the door could shut,’ reads the filing. ‘Plaintiff reiterated that she was tired, but the Defendant expressed that he was “high as f***” and was “trying to have sex.” Plaintiff then walked into her bedroom, and Defendant followed.

Despite Plaintiff expressing to Defendant her non-interest in engaging in sexual intercourse with him several times, Defendant forcefully removed Plaintiff’s pajama shorts. Plaintiff then pulled her pajama shorts back up. Defendant told her, “I know you want to [have sex].”‘

The woman reported the alleged incident “within hours” to law enforcement and received a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner exam at the hospital after speaking to police, according to ESPN.

Officers recovered a used condom from her dorm bedroom that Hendryx claims was used by Hairston during the alleged sexual assault.

After the incident, Hendryx would go on to transfer away from Kentucky in 2021 due to her extreme anxiety.

Maxwell Hairston is from West Bloomfield, Michigan, and spent three seasons playing at Kentucky (2022-24) before being selected by the Bills in the first round.

The 21-year-old Hairston is being given the opportunity to win a starting job at cornerback this season.

Buffalo Bills Were Aware Of The Situation On Maxwell Hairston

Buffalo Bills first-round draft pick Maxwell Hairston was accused in a lawsuit of sexually assaulting a woman in 2021 at the University of Kentucky.

The Bills did not comment on the matter because they were aware of it months ago.

Instead of speaking up, they referred to statements made by general manager Brandon Beane in April during the draft. Beane said at the time the team had “fully investigated” a sexual assault allegation from 2021 involving Hairston, who he called “an impeccable kid.”

“So that’s unfortunate when things like that are attached to someone’s name. And in this case, doesn’t seem to be anything there,” Beane said.
