New disturbing details have surfaced following the arrest of former NFL player Adarius Taylor.
Reports of Taylor’s arrest broke this week, suggesting he was involved in some form of child abuse, but a new scoop from TMZ Sports has revealed that his misdeed came in the form of neglecting his six-year-old son to meet up with a prostitute.
“Former NFL linebacker Adarius Taylor was arrested last week after he left his 6-year-old son in his car to meet up with a prostitute, cops said Friday,” the outlet published ahead of the weekend.
Taylor is accused of responding to a fake internet ad promising escorts in exchange for cash, set up by police.
“Police say Taylor took his child to an undisclosed location — left the kid in the ride, and then made contact with an undercover deputy inside what appeared to be a hotel room,” the report adds.
TMZ notes that the Polk County Sheriff’s office in Florida has video footage of Taylor speaking to a police officer about sex and then quickly leaving the area. He was arrested for soliciting another for prostitution, lewdness, or assignation moments later.
Things ramped up after officers discovered he had left his six-year-old boy in his car; he was also charged with child neglect.
“This guy here,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said, “obviously he must have hit one too many people as a linebacker because his brain cells are scrambled. He shouldn’t have shown up in the first place, but to leave that child? My goodness.
“So he picked up a child neglect charge along with everything else.”
Judd also revealed that it Taylor’s actions were even more damning as the child had medical issues and shold had never been left alone in the condition he was.
“And he left this child alone that should have never been left alone because of medical conditions,” she added.
