New photos have surfaced of former Minnesota Vikings star defensive end Everson Griffen on a Delta Air Lines flight before he was removed for “unruly behavior.”
On Wednesday, TMZ Sports broke the news that Everson Griffen was removed from a Delta flight headed to Minneapolis from the Chicago O’Hare International Airport. A Delta company spokesperson told the outlet that Griffen was removed for “unruly behavior.”
Per TMZ Sports, pilots had to land the plane soon after takeoff to remove Griffen. In an update on Thursday, they were told by a passenger on the flight that “it looked like Griffen was trying to smoke something in the bathroom,” leading to the confrontation with flight attendants.
TMZ Sports also obtained images of Griffen gathering his belongings before leaving the flight, which you can see here.

It’s unclear at this time if police are investigating anything criminal or if Everson Griffen could face any charges. We’ll provide more details on the matter when they become available.
Everson Griffen, a four-time Pro Bowler, spent 11 of his 12 seasons with the Minnesota Vikings (2010 to 2019 and 2021). He split the 2020 season with the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions.
He racked up 85.5 sacks, 20 pass breakups and 10 forced fumbles in his career. He had his best season in 2017, helping Minny to a surprise NFC Championship Game appearance after recording three sacks.
Griffen has had multiple run-ins with the law. In January 2011, he was arrested twice in three days. The first arrest was from allegedly being publicly intoxicated, and the second was from assaulting a police officer during a traffic stop.
In July 2023, Griffen was arrested for driving under the influence. Ten months later, he was arrested for another DWI offense after police caught him speeding. Griffen entered a plea deal and had his license temporarily revoked.
