Bo Nix showed no signs of injury while walking off the field on Saturday, yet his season is over.

The Denver Broncos quarterback sustained an ankle fracture during his team’s win over the Buffalo Bills, though it’s not clear how.

Nix walked off the field on his own power after exchanging congratulatory hugs with teammates. However, not long afterward, head coach Sean Payton revealed he would face the knife.

According to Payton, Nix suffered the injury on the penultimate play in overtime and will undergo surgery next week.

So the Broncos are through to the AFC Championship Game, but they’re going without their QB1.

Jarrett Stidham will start in his place.

Footage of Nx leaving the field after the overtime win has surfaced on social media, making the entire thing even more puzzling.

Nix did not appear to be hurt in any way and may not have even known he had suffered such a brutal injury.
