Shilo Sanders is already thinking about what’s next after football. Earlier this week, Sanders was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when the team trimmed its roster before the start of the season.

Shilo’s father, Deion Sanders, spoke to the media after his son was cut, and said he wasn’t too worried because “all Sanders are going to be straight without football.”

“Shilo’s a man of many talents,” Deion Sanders said. “I don’t know if you guys know — he’s a man of many talents and he’s going to be straight. All the Sanders are going to be straight with or without football. You better believe that. You better believe that I take care of mine and I’ve always have, and y’all know what I mean. You better believe that

On Thursday night, Shilo broke his silence and revealed that he plans to pursue acting, modeling, and music as he awaits another NFL opportunity.

“In every athlete’s life it becomes a point to where the game ends for you. And I’m not saying that’s what it is now. I’m just saying mentally I’m good ‘cause I know that I got a lot of talents and I’ve been blessed… Basically, every athlete comes to this point to where you find yourself without the game of football, and then you’re thinking about what can you do next? What now?”

“Mentally, I’m good. I have a lot of talents… music, acting, modeling. I’m well versed, and my parents made sure of that.”

While the Bucs did release Shilo, they are still reportedly interested in bringing him back as a practice squad player.

“We’re told that the Buccaneers enjoyed having Shilo in the building, viewing the son of Deion Sanders as a good kid, who was at all times respectful to everyone. Shilo was also immediately remorseful following the incident that disqualified him from the second quarter of the game against the Bills,” Florio wrote.

“Sanders could, in theory, sign with the Bucs’ practice squad, after clearing waivers. The bigger question is whether he’s good enough to compete and to play at the NFL level.”
