I guess we can put all the “he won’t come to the Titans” stuff to rest
Shedeur Sanders has been taking part in the festivities at the East-West Shrine Bowl. He’s not taking part in any of the on-the-field stuff, but he has spent a lot of time talking to teams there - including the Tennessee Titans. Back when the Titans were in the mix for the first overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, there was a narrative that Sanders and his father, Colorado coach Deion Sanders, might not be happy if he ended up in Tennessee. Apparently that’s not the case. Sanders had this to say when meeting with the media there (from Jim Wyatt):
Asked what he’d think of the Titans picked him first overall, Sanders said: “I’d love it. I would be thankful.”
Now, as with everything you hear this time of year, you have to take it with a grain of salt. It is every prospect’s dream to be the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. Sanders isn’t going to say anything that would take him out of the running for that honor.
As for what the Titans are thinking with the pick, we still don’t really have any idea. We know that Brian Callahan had a lot of good things to say about Sanders. Of course, refer back to the “everything you hear” paragraph above. The Titans are going to want to keep the league guessing what they are going to do with the pick. If there is another team that is in love with Sanders, the Titans are going to want that team to think they could pick him. That drives up the value of the pick.
We are still 87 days away from the NFL Draft. We are going to hear a lot of things between now and then.
