Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders was pulled over by police on Tuesday morning for speeding.

According to Fox 8, Shedeur Sanders was pulled over just before 12:30 a.m. local time for driving 101 MPH in a zone with a 60 MPH speed limit. A police officer gave Sanders a ticket for the traffic infraction, though he has the option to fight the ticket in court.

Per Fox 8, Ohio authorities handed out over 3,700 tickets in 2024 to drivers who went over 100 MPH. Sanders hasn’t publicly addressed the matter.

The Colorado product was expected to be a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, but he unexpectedly fell out of the first four rounds. Finally, the Browns used the No. 144 pick on Shedeur Sanders in round five, which still surprised some people since they took Oregon QB Dillon Gabriel in the third round.

Sanders was the consensus No. 2 quarterback prospect in the 2025 NFL Draft behind Miami’s Cam Ward, who went first overall to the Tennessee Titans. Incredibly, five quarterbacks were taken before the Browns finally took.

Multiple factors have been cited as reasons behind Shedeur’s stunning draft slide, including his lackluster performance in team interviews and the belief that Deion Sanders will try to influence how his son is used in the NFL.

Shedeur Sanders Is Part Of A Crowded Browns QB Room

The Browns’ quarterback job is arguably the most compelling training camp position battle this year. Aside from Sanders and Gabriel, the Browns also have veterans Joe Flacco and Kenny Pickett duking it out for the QB1 job.

Flacco is considered the front-runner to be Cleveland’s day one starter, given his experience and familiarity in Kevin Stefanski’s offense. The Super Bowl 47 MVP won Comeback Player of the Year honors after leading Cleveland to a surprise playoff berth in 2024.
