It doesn’t take much for the general public to have disdain for Shedeur Sanders, and now he has provided fuel for them to go after him.
A recent video shows the Cleveland Browns quarterback declining to sign an autograph for a young fan before his first game, stating it wasn’t a good look.
“I’m about to play a game. It’s not a great look to be signing stuff, Sanders could be heard saying to the kid.
What makes his statement even crazier is that he took some time to take a picture with a fan before ultimately going back to the locker room.

In Shedeur Sanders’ defense, if he had signed one autograph, then everyone on the field would have wanted one signed as well. It just looks really bad when a kid gets turned down.
As you can tell by the field, this interaction occurred right before he took the field for the first time in a preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.
Shedeur Sanders is not the only QB getting backlash for this.
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow also faced backlash online after a video emerged of him refusing to sign an autograph for a fan.
“Joe, just one?” asked the fan in question. “Please, for the kid, it’s past my bedtime. Please, it’s 2 in the morning. Please just sign one,” he continued.
Burrow was not interested in signing an autograph for the fan; instead, he walked away from him before being mobbed by fans.
Shedeur Sanders got his first taste of NFL action in the Cleveland Browns’ preseason game against the Carolina Panthers.
Sanders completed 14 of 23 passes for 138 yards and two touchdowns in the Browns’ 30-10 win.
The Browns took him in the fifth round, No. 144 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft, though many expected him to go much earlier.
