NFL fans are furious with the rumored “Madden 26” rating for Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
One of the top storylines of the 2025 NFL offseason was Shedeur Sanders’ stunning draft fall. He was the consensus No. 2 quarterback behind Miami’s Cam Ward, who went first overall to the Tennessee Titans.
Some experts had Sanders being a top-five pick, but he inexplicably fell to the Browns in round five at No. 144 overall. He was the sixth QB selected, behind Ward, Jaxson Dart (New York Giants), Tyler Shough (New Orleans Saints), Jalen Milroe (Seattle Seahawks) and Dillon Gabriel (Browns).
Well, it appears that the “Madden 26” makers aren’t sold on Sanders at this time, either.
EA Sports has yet to officially release the final player ratings for “Madden 26,” but there’s buzz on X/Twitter that the game developers gave the Browns’ highly-touted quarterback an overall rating of 67.

Of course, Madden ratings don’t at all indicate the kind of season a player will have. And EA Sports is always updating their player ratings, so Sanders’ will grow if he gets playing time and makes the most of it.
The 23-year-old Sanders is part of a four-man quarterback room in Cleveland, along with fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel, 40-year-old Joe Flacco and former Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick Kenny Pickett.
New Cleveland wideout Diontae Johnson said that he thinks Pickett will win the QB competition, but there’s still a long way to go. Flacco still feels like the front-runner because of his experience in Kevin Stefanski’s offense, winning Comeback Player of the Year honors in 2023 after leading the Browns to the postseason.
